I Guess I'm Not a Red Lipstick Kind of Girl

I can finally say I am not intimated by a bold lip color. As you can see, my go-to choices are raspberry, fuchsia and burgundy plum-ish shades.

L-R: YSL Rouge Volupté #12 / #11 / NARS Penny Arcade / Laura Mercier Crushed Berry / OCC Lip Tar "Strumpet" / MAC Rebel

Rebel Spotlight

I've always been intrigued and intimidated to get MAC's Rebel, it's such a bold color that I never really thought I could pull it off,  but now that I own it I'm loving this lipstick.

Rebel looks crazy scary and intimidating in the tube but it wears to a raspberry plum-ish, I don't know how to describe it really, but it's beautiful.

Rebel has become an absolute favorite and a definite repurchase.

Red Red Cheeks

Very bright and intimidating, who would have thought I'd wear red blush? Not me for sure.
Lately I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone when it comes to makeup, first with lipsticks and now I'm moving on to blush.
First I picked up Red Cheeks which is a cream blush:

On the left is a heavy swatch where you can tell how pigmented it is, on the right is a very light swatch, and by light swatch I mean barely any product.

Next one is Red which is a powder blush:

On the left you can see how pigmented this blush is as well; on the right it's a very light swatch.
I like Red Cheeks a little bit more just because it has a bit of a dewy finish when applied.

Thanks for reading!

Highlighter Spotlight

Highlighting products have become essential in my makeup collection. I've mostly preferred those that give me a subtle glow, no shimmer involved..
On this post I will focus on Bare Minerals Ready Luminizer " The Love Affair".
I first found out about this product from Tiffany, and was intrigued by the fact that she mentioned the words Rose Gold.
I remember seeing it at one of my many visits to Sephora, I swatched it and was immediately thinking of buying it.
It looked beautiful swatched on my hand in the store, but didn't want this to be an impulse buy, so I walked around with the swatch and kept looking at it the rest of the day in different lighting, I wanted to be 10000% sure that I needed this.
I'm so glad I made this purchase, I've been using it a lot, so much it makes me wonder if I should have gotten a back-up since it's limited edition.
