Bright Nails & Coffee

Hi!

Here are some random pictures of two weekends ago going to one of our Fanboygaming tournaments at the Microsoft Store in San Diego.

I wore Maybelline's nail polish in Coraliscious, super bright coral!

Fashion Valley Mall, see if you can spot Sephora ;)

I usually make a detour to Sephora and MAC and come back with hands full of swatches. I'm on a makeup no-buy right now, but that doesn't stop me from going and stare at all the pretty makeup, it's not weird right? hehe

I can't help but stop by Starbucks to get a drink

Usually I get a Java Chip Frappuchino, yup drinking coffee at 9 pm always keeps me up all night.

Why did I wait so long to get this?

I've had so many things on my wishlist that I've been slowly getting. One of them is MAC Style blush, which is a coral-peach with a gold sheen (Frost)
I've had this blush on my wishlist for a few months now, but what I said to myself as soon as I got it a couple of weeks ago was "Why did I wait so long to get this?"

When I swatched it reminded me of my treasured Stereo Rose MSF. So here they are side by side for a little comparison:

 Left to Right: Stereo Rose / Style

Stereo Rose is a pink-coral with a  peachy/golden sheen and Style is a coral peach with a golden sheen.

 From Top to Bottom: Style / Stereo Rose

I also wanted to compare Style between Stereo Rose and Benefit Coralista, which are a bit more pink-coral.

Here you can see the beautiful golden sheen of Style:

I'm loving Style blush, I've been using it a lot since I got it, giving Stereo Rose a well deserved rest for a bit.
Even though I've had it for a couple of weeks, it's safe to say that Style blush is an absolute favorite of mine!

A quick DIY

Hi!

I did a quick trip to Michael's because I've been wanting to get stuff to make a necklace.

This bow pendant really got my attention, and I also picked up a chain to match.
The pack of chains came with 3 of  18 inch each.

Since the 3 individual chains were very short, I linked them together to make one long necklace.
It took me less than 5 minutes to make this cute necklace.

My Paradise

Hey Lovelies!

As I mentioned on my previous post, I only got 1 item of MAC's Surf Baby collection.

My Paradise cheek powder is a gorgeous peachy coral with a gold hibiscus overspray. 

 With flash

 Natural light

I love the packaging, an off-white case with a hint of shimmer, I'm not crazy about the logo on the lid, I think it hides the beautiful gold hibiscus a bit, but once I open it...hello gorgeous! :)

Swatches:

The gold hibiscus overspray is indeed a thick layer that won't wear off on the first swipe, I rubbed off a bit of one of the petals and it did take me a bit to do so.

This is a gorgeous blush!

Flip Flops and Makeup

Hi Lovelies!
About a week or so ago I went to Old Navy when they were having their $1.00 flip flop sale, yup I'm a sucker for flip flops.

But first,I stopped by the CCO located on the same mall to check out what they had in stock and got a couple of things:

 

Got 2 eyeshadows Pollinator and Firecracker
Pollinator was a LE e/s from  MAC's Naked Honey collection in 2009

 It's a pretty peach with a little shimmer (Frost)

 Firecracker, also a LE e/s from the To the Beach collection last year

Firecracker is a red-orange coral (Veluxe Pearl)

Lastly, that same week I picked up the only item from the Surf Baby collection..

So Demure

Hi!

I've been wearing Revlon's nail polish " Demure" for about a week now, and I am loving this color!
It's a lovely pinky-coral shade. I picked up Demure at the same time as Siren.

Playing with Photoshop on this next pic  :)

I like this shade so much I will definitely pick up the matching lipstick :)

Illamasqua Blush Collection

Hi There!

I'm sharing with you my Illamasqua blush collection and let me tell you I got hooked on them since I purchased the very first one. I'm showing them in the order i purchased them and also some comparisons to other blushes i have, just for fun.

First is  Rude Cream Blusher, this was my first Illamasqua purchase, and first cream blusher. Rude is a coral pink and it has a dewy finish.

Next is Lover, a beautiful matte peach, it gives a very nice natural flush of color, but it can definitely be buildable.

 Comparison:

 From left to right: Lover, MAC My Highland Honey, MAC Peaches, My Highland Honey/Peaches mixed.

Excite, now this is a very bright orange toned coral (matte), which I love! Have to be careful using this color, I like to use a stippling brush to apply; a little goes a long way.

I compared Excite and Tarte Tipsy together, and they are very different shades of coral. Comparing these two, Excite is more peach/orange toned, while Tipsy looks more pink toned, specially next to Excite. I have nothing similar to Excite in my blush collection.

Hussy is a bright petal pink (matte), I have recently steered away from pink blushes (I've been going peach and coral crazy) so this was a nice change.

I compared Hussy to MAC Fleur Power and Sonia Kashuk Melon

The last of my Illamasqua collection is the Glint & Burnish Bronzing Duo, which I first read of in Tiffany's blog, (actually I also first read about Tarte Tipsy on her blog :p) I wrote it on my wishlist and stopped by Sephora to pick it up, I am not dissapointed at all by this product, it has two gorgeous shades, Glint is a nice highlight shade and Burnish is a golden bronze, it's not shimmery, it has more of a sheen finish.

The texture of the blushes is so soft, they don't feel powdery or chalky at all. Overall, great pigmentation, very soft, like the smell too, is that weird? hehe
