Red Red Cheeks

Very bright and intimidating, who would have thought I'd wear red blush? Not me for sure.
Lately I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone when it comes to makeup, first with lipsticks and now I'm moving on to blush.
First I picked up Red Cheeks which is a cream blush:

On the left is a heavy swatch where you can tell how pigmented it is, on the right is a very light swatch, and by light swatch I mean barely any product.

Next one is Red which is a powder blush:

On the left you can see how pigmented this blush is as well; on the right it's a very light swatch.
I like Red Cheeks a little bit more just because it has a bit of a dewy finish when applied.

Highlighter Spotlight

Highlighting products have become essential in my makeup collection. I've mostly preferred those that give me a subtle glow, no shimmer involved..
On this post I will focus on Bare Minerals Ready Luminizer " The Love Affair".
I first found out about this product from Tiffany, and was intrigued by the fact that she mentioned the words Rose Gold.
I remember seeing it at one of my many visits to Sephora, I swatched it and was immediately thinking of buying it.
It looked beautiful swatched on my hand in the store, but didn't want this to be an impulse buy, so I walked around with the swatch and kept looking at it the rest of the day in different lighting, I wanted to be 10000% sure that I needed this.
I'm so glad I made this purchase, I've been using it a lot, so much it makes me wonder if I should have gotten a back-up since it's limited edition.

Berry-ish

Besides pink,  I've been playing around with raspberry shades on my lips and nails.

Left to Right: Revlon Smitten/Revlon Raspberry Pie/Essie Raspberry
I've worn Smitten on its own and if I want to add a bit more intensity I add Raspberry Pie on top.
Essie's Big Spender is one of my favorite nail-polishes, it's a perfect balance of  purple-raspberry-and a little bit of pink.
Left to Right: Essie Raspberry/Essie Big Spender
Both nail polishes are lovely, I've been using Raspberry with a coat of Big Spender on top.

Have a great day!

Favorite Lip Combos

Ever since stepping out of my lip color comfort zone (just lip-balm by the way), I have embraced the bright lip, specially pinks. Take a look at some of my favorite lip combos used recently; from the Revlon Colorburst line: True Red and Fuchsia
Bottom: Revlon Colorburst True Red/Top: Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia
Bottom to Top: True Red/Fuchsia/ True Red+Fuchsia
From the Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain line: Sweetheart and Romantic
Bottom to Top: Romantic/Sweetheart / Romantic+Sweetheart
Another color I've been getting attracted to is raspberry, not only for lips but nails too, which I will share on my next post.

Thanks for visiting!

Pink Me Up!

I've been reaching a lot lately for pink blushes and lipsticks.
I have to admit I was a little intimidated to wear a bright lipstick, so I started just with a little hint of color and Revlon's Sweet Tart Lip Butter got me hooked ever since.
Other lip products I have been reaching for:
Left to Right: Revlon Sweetheart Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm/Revlon Colorburst Fuchsia/Carnation/Sweet Tart Lip Butter
Left to Right: Revlon Fuchsia/Carnation/Sweet Tart
The one that I've been using way more now is Fuchsia, I absolutely adore this shade.
Revlon Sweetheart Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain
Bottom Left Corner to Top Right Corner:
Sweetheart/Fuchsia/Carnation/Sweet Tart
Moving on to blushes,  MAC's Fleur Power and Revlon Flushed Photoready cream blush.
 MAC Fleur Power/Revlon Flushed
Bottom Left to Top: Revlon Flushed/MAC Fleur Power

The Real Techniques blush brush is my go-to brush for blushes, not only it works perfectly but the color of the handle is an awesome metallic pink
And to finish off, another pink product I always carry in my makeup bag is this cute mirror I got at Sephora a while ago.
Maybe I should do a post on what I carry in my makeup bag...which is pink by the way ;)

Oh Luster...

Every single time I'd go to Sephora I would always stay the longest at the NARS section, but I never paid too much attention to the blushes since I thought to myself "Do I really need another blush?"...well I answered that question with an "Oh yeah!" as soon as I swatched Luster for the first time.
The packaging is lovely, but since it can get a bit dirty easily, I always use the box it came in to carry around in my makeup bag.
I absolutely adore this blush, and combined with another NARS favorite, Albatross (which I heard about this combo from the lovely Estee from Essie Button), it is the most beautiful combination ever.
Luster is described as a sheer golden apricot, yup that sounds about right!
The images and swatch below don't give justice on how pretty this blush is.

I just wanted to share one of my latest obsessions with you.

Night at the Amphitheater

Hi!
Linkin Park and Incubus are 2 of my favorite bands and when I found out that they were touring together and playing here in San Diego, I was ecstatic!
This is my second time seeing Linkin Park in concert, the first time during Projekt Revolution in 2007, that being my first concert with my husband.
The concert started at 6:30 with the opening act Mutemath, then followed Incubus at 7:20 and they played for almost 2 hours.

Linkin Park performed right after, also playing for almost 2 hours

I had an amazing time with my husband at our date night/concert.

Will be back with makeup posts soon! :)

Barely any difference

Hi!
I finally got the new Maybelline Color Tattoo cream shadows, I found them at a CVS somewhat far from the usual CVS I go to (the one closest to me sucks by the way).
Anyway, I picked up Rich Mahogany, Gold Shimmer and Barely Beige which is the one featured on this post.
When I first opened it, the first thing that I thought was "This looks just like MAC's Bare Study Paint Pot!" and sure enough compared side by side they look very much alike.

Bottom Left: Bare Study / Upper Right: Barely Beige
Bottom: Bare Study / Top: Barely Beige
I noticed that Maybelline's Barely Beige is a bit pinkier, just very slightly, while Bare Study is more beige.

I'm very pleased with Barely beige so far, I might do a review once I use it enough.
